5. Postcode checker
and automated results

Our postcode checker uses the postcode you enter to compare your
address with our current service coverage and route rules. It may
automatically show an available three-, four- or six-week service cycle,
or tell you that online booking is not currently available.

The checker is intended to guide online booking and does not make a
decision that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you.
Coverage and schedules can change, and we may manually review an
unavailable or unusual result if you contact us. We do not send the full
postcode you enter to Google Analytics or Meta as an analytics event. If
you choose a WhatsApp link that includes your postcode in the prepared
message, the postcode is sent to WhatsApp only when you choose to open
or send that message.

6. Cookies,
analytics and advertising technology

We use essential cookies and similar technologies where they are
needed for the website, security, shopping basket, checkout, account,
payment and consent-preference features to work.

With your permission, we may also use:

  • Google Analytics 4 and related Google measurement
    services
    to understand visits, page use, source attribution and
    booking performance;
  • Google Ads conversion measurement to understand
    whether advertising leads to enquiries or orders;
  • Meta Pixel and related Meta business tools to
    measure activity from Facebook or Instagram and, where enabled, improve
    advertising;
  • Jetpack or similar website tools for website
    performance, security or limited statistics; and
  • embedded review, map, video, chat or social features that may set
    their own cookies or receive information about your device.

Non-essential analytics, advertising and social technologies are not
enabled until the required consent has been given. You can accept,
reject or change non-essential cookie choices through the cookie banner
or the cookie-settings link on the website. More detail, including
current cookie names, purposes and durations, is in our Cookie Policy.

We configure analytics events to avoid sending names, email
addresses, telephone numbers, full postal addresses or full postcodes.
Google and Meta must not be used to receive information that their
policies prohibit.

7. Who we share
personal information with

We share personal information only where reasonably necessary with
categories of recipients such as:

  • website, hosting, email, backup, security and IT-support
    providers;
  • WordPress, WooCommerce and the service providers that support our
    online shop, accounts, subscriptions and website features;
  • payment providers, including GoCardless and, where offered at
    checkout, Stripe or WooPayments, so they can process payments, mandates,
    refunds and fraud checks;
  • Google, where you consent to Google analytics or advertising
    technologies, or where you use Google services such as our Business
    Profile or reviews;
  • Meta, where you consent to Meta measurement or advertising
    technologies, or where you contact us through Facebook, Instagram or
    WhatsApp;
  • analytics, consent-management, customer-support and communications
    providers;
  • accountants, insurers, professional advisers, debt-recovery
    providers and auditors;
  • government bodies, regulators, courts, law-enforcement bodies or
    other parties where disclosure is required or permitted by law; and
  • a buyer, investor or successor if our business or assets are
    reorganised, sold or transferred, subject to appropriate confidentiality
    safeguards.

These organisations may act as our processors, independent
controllers or, in limited circumstances, joint controllers. Their own
privacy information explains how they use information for their
purposes. We do not sell your personal information.

8. International transfers

Some service providers, including major technology platforms, may
process information outside the United Kingdom. Where personal
information is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to
ensure an appropriate safeguard is used, such as UK adequacy
regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK
Addendum to approved standard contractual clauses, or another lawful
safeguard. You may contact us for more information about the safeguard
relevant to a particular transfer.

9. How long we keep
personal information

We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably
needed for the purpose collected, including to provide services, meet
legal and accounting duties, resolve disputes and establish or defend
legal claims. Our usual approach is:

  • unsuccessful enquiries and quotations: normally up to 24 months
    after the last meaningful contact;
  • customer accounts, orders, service history and contract
    communications: for the life of the account or service and normally up
    to six years afterwards;
  • invoices, transaction and tax records: normally six years after the
    relevant financial period, or longer where law requires;
  • routine customer-service and complaint material: normally up to six
    years after closure where it may be relevant to a contract or
    claim;
  • consent and marketing-suppression records: for as long as needed to
    demonstrate and respect your choice;
  • security and diagnostic logs: for a shorter period appropriate to
    security and troubleshooting, unless an incident requires longer
    retention;
  • user-level analytics data: according to the retention setting in the
    relevant analytics account, while aggregated reports may remain
    available for longer; and
  • affiliate and referral records: for the arrangement and normally up
    to six years afterwards where needed for payment, tax or dispute
    records.

We may retain information for longer if there is an active dispute,
legal hold, regulatory enquiry or other lawful reason. We may also
anonymise information so it can no longer identify anyone; anonymised
information may be kept for statistical purposes.

10. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures intended to
protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration,
disclosure, loss or destruction. These include access controls, account
and website security tools, software updates, backups and limiting
access to people and providers who need the information. No internet
service can be guaranteed completely secure, so please contact us
promptly if you believe information or an account has been
compromised.

11. Direct marketing

We may send service messages needed to administer an enquiry, order,
payment, subscription or visit. These are not marketing messages.

We send electronic marketing only where we have the permission or
other lawful basis required by data-protection and electronic-marketing
law. You can unsubscribe through a message’s unsubscribe option or by
contacting us. We may keep a minimal suppression record so that we
continue to respect an opt-out.

12. Your data-protection
rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:

  • ask for access to your personal information;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • ask us to erase information;
  • ask us to restrict how information is used;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests or to direct
    marketing;
  • receive certain information in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time; and
  • ask for human involvement where a qualifying decision is made solely
    by automated means.

These rights are not absolute and exemptions may apply. We may need
information to confirm your identity before acting on a request. We
normally respond without undue delay and within one month, although the
law allows extra time for certain complex or numerous requests. We do
not ordinarily charge a fee, but the law permits a reasonable fee or
refusal in limited circumstances.

To exercise a right, email tom@lifesbingood.co.uk
or write to our registered office.

13. Children

Our services are intended for people who are able to enter into a
service contract and are not directed at children. If you believe a
child has provided personal information to us inappropriately, please
contact us so we can review it.

14. Data-protection
complaints

Please send a data-protection complaint to tom@lifesbingood.co.uk,
through our contact page, or by post to our registered office. Please
explain what happened and the outcome you are seeking. We will take
reasonable steps to facilitate complaints, aim to acknowledge a
complaint within 30 days, and respond without undue delay.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s
Office (ICO), the UK data-protection regulator. Details are available at
ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first, but
you are not required to contact us before approaching the ICO.

Our website may link to websites or apps operated by others,
including payment, Google, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp services. If
you follow a third-party link or use its service, that organisation may
collect information under its own privacy policy. We are not responsible
for third-party websites or their independent use of personal
information.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to our services,
providers or legal obligations. The latest version will be posted on
this page with a revised “last updated” date. Where a change materially
affects how we use personal information, we will take reasonable steps
to bring it to the attention of affected people.
